My fashion essentials: Gloves

I have many fashion obsessions, I adore all kind of McQueen Shoes, hot pink accessories, lingerie and Chloe handbags. Among these, one of the things I love the most, are leather gloves. It’s not just about my latest obsession with Lady GaGa and the fact that she loves to wear them, it’s about the sexy feeling in your hands when you wear them, it’s about how incredibly comfortable and warm they keep you, and of course, it’s about how classic and stylish they look, I just love them all, fingerless, driver, half scoop, I love them!

As you may remember from my 5 self-indulgent things list, I’d always wanted to own a pair of good leather gloves in black… or hot pink. Well, Today, I got the chance to finally buy a pair.

They are so cute, I love them, I got them from my local Zara store, they were the last pair, and they were (surprisingly) in good conditions (I hate it how people tend to be careless when they try on this kind of things on the store). They’re a gift from my mom, and they come just in time since the cold season is just starting.

I tend to spend a lot of my time riding a friend’s motorbike, and you have no idea how cold my fingers can get, now I can’t wait to wear them!

If you’d never had the chance to try a pair of leather (or even good quality faux-leather if that’s your call) gloves, you have no idea what you’re missing, once you try them you’ll never go back to mittens or knitted gloves, besides, they’ll draw a lot of attention to your hands, and they’ll look much sexier on these.

Give these a chance, I promise you won’t regret incorporating them into your winter wardrobe, leather gloves are always in fashion, and I definitively love how mine look and I’m sure I’ll give them a lot of use.

5 things I’d give a year of my life for (day 3)

Thank you everyone for those awesome Facebook messages, texts and e-mails saying ‘happy birthday’ to me. I am now a 25 years old, with a lot of goals and projects, You’ll see, very soon you’ll see.

Now, let’s get to it, 5 things I’d give a year of my life for, day number 3 of this list. Lately a very nice girl has been asking me some questions on Formspring.me, one of which got me thinking, what would I really, really love to do/get/live through if I could, even if it would cost me a year of my life? Here’s the list.

1. I would travel the world. I still have a lot of places to visit, and I’d always wanted to do it with a red suitcase. I’m still looking for that red suitcase to start with, If you happen to have one in good conditions  let me know!
2. I would defeat my fear to drive. This is something I am actually working on, and I hope to be totally ready in a month.
3. I would meet either Gala Darling or Chloe Rice, both amazing and super inspiring women I look up to. I would have so many questions for both of them.
4. I would live in a different country. Alone. Scary? Hell yeah. On my list of plans? Of course! If I could pick right now, I think my first choice would be San Francisco, simply because I love the place,
5. I would get my grandma back, even just for a few hours. I normally don’t get too sentimental or too personal in here, but I’ll make an exception right now: About 2 months before I started this journal, my grandma passed away, which pretty much triggered my need to find reasons to be happy about and eventually led me to all that “Letting sequins into my life” and of course, this blog. I loved my grandma more than life, and she knew it, I am not one of those people filled with regret because ‘I did not say what I had to’, I actually did, PLENTY of times, but still, I would give pretty much anything just to give her one more hug, touch her face one more time and tell her I love her. She rocked.

Here I am with my grandma 2 yrs. ago on the last vacation we took together. We're on a ferry under the Golden Gate. We both loved that city.

So that’s it. A list of 5 things I’d love to go through, get or do.

Anyway, last night I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend and it was pretty amazing, he cooked for me, we watched Halo Legends (he’s a big fan) talked a lot, hugged my cat, and watch Utena. Tomorrow I am celebrating with my mom, and all I know is that I want strawberry Ice cream, and on Sunday it’ll be my boyfriend’s birthday (Scorpio love, I know) I won’t be meeting him until thursday, then we will celebrate again! I just wish I didn’t have all these tests pending. 😦

5 silly things i’ve done right before turning 25… (day 2)

…which mainly consists on the last day, since my birthday is tomorrow (yeeppi!) So let’s see.

1. I got my last picture as a 24 yr. old: Yes I have a damn bloody eye, it’s because all this stress.
   
2. I watched Candyman, and I do have a strong opinion about it. I found it interesting, but I’ll talk about very soon,
3. I spent a few hours hugging my normally un-huggable cat. She’s so awesome, I also decided that if I do get a new cat, I’ll name Nanami, after Utena’s character Nanami, here you have her with Touga, her brother and my favorite character.
   
4. I *finally* got my  RFC. (You may not get this if you’re not from Mexico)
5. I got a new savings account. ❤ (i know, I am so lame that I get excited about things like this)

That’s it, I guess this is just me documenting my last day as a 24 yr. old, now let’s just wait for that quarter of life crisis to come. I guess this list got really self-centered, but hey… it’s just to remind me life is good, huh?

5 self-indulgent things (Day 1)

Devoted to remind myself life is awesome, I have decided to cover a month (or just a while) of daily fives. So here you have the first

5 awesome clothes and accessories I am dying to get

1. Gala Darling’s Birthday Girl shoes – Seriously people, there’s something about these shoes that make me want to wear them all the time, on a city that is not made for high-heeled usage. They’re only $100 and the woman designed them!
2. Do you know what would look killer with those shoes? These Ski Lift Tunic on Chalet, only $50! One of the things I love the most about ModClothes are the dresses. Cutest ever.
3. I am a garter user and I just can’t lie. But really, Garters and garter belts are so amazing to incorporate in a girl’s wardrobe, specially if you wear them as everyday items and knock the cheap porno stereotype. One of the most original ones are from Sock Dreams. I love them! Yes, I know!
4. Black Leather gloves. Nothing else to say.
5. And Last but not least: I want a Kitten!

Ok, ok, I know it’s not a clothing Item, but lately I think my Katamari is feeling lonely and wants a playing partner. I’m thinking of getting a new baby so they can keep each other’s company while I’m not there. Besides, My boyfriend has 4 kittens, not counting Katamari (whom we share) and he tells me all these amazing stories about his kittens playing together and stuff, he’s even looking to get a new baby (shh, I’m going to get him one for his birthday!!) so I got this itch and I may be scratching it soon.
