Big Plans on the walls

June 28, 2010

Finally! After weeks and weeks of really hard tests I am free! Free! Free as the wind!!

What are your plans for the summer? I have about a month free, and I already have big goals to achieve. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll tell you about it later.

Today I met Arekune and we bought Moleskines.

Someone's got a problem

I’m planning on using this for some of the projects I have.  So Far, it’s all been very creative and stuff, and I have a lot of summer courses to take, which is also very great. But I won’t tell, no, no.

… Not yet.

So, what are your plans so far?

    That’s what she said…

    June 27, 2010

And by ‘she’ I mean Lady GaGa.

I have nothing against love, I am actually very deep in love, sharing a relationship that I feel is the healthiest I’ve ever had, but still, I find that quote so wise.

I am very focused on my career, I love what I do, and I love everything that has to do with it, I’m happy to say my love life is not something to be follow, but to keep by my side while I accomplish all that’s left to be accomplished… By our side.

    I love you.

    The Friday Song: Fukushuu

    June 25, 2010

A few years ago, My best friend and I had this website The Friday Songin which we asked music related questions every friday. This is the evolution.

I am finally on vacation with a lot of things to accomplish and stuff. The only bad thing? I got sick today. Hopefully I will be better tomorrow. But still. I wanted to go to the movies today, Which I think, will not happen.

Anyway. Be ready cause I have a lot of big news coming very, very soon. I don’t want to spoil anything, so let’s talk about this week’s song.

This time I choose a song from my favorite band: Tokyo Jihen. Normally they sing in Japanese, but once or twice in an album, they have an english song. This one comes from their 2007 album Variety. This weekend I was just thinking of how happy that album makes me, most of their fans feel like it’s their least favorite album, but I adore it, it just sounds so retro 60’s it’s impossible for me not to love it. The name is Fukushuu which translates to something like ‘Revenge’ and the video comes from their Spa and Treatment Tour.

    Fukushuu – Tokyo Jihen

Beautiful thing, you lock your sights,
    your hands are trembling
Savoring the taste of flesh and bone
Another one found, the rain it pounds,
    and something looks the same
Innocence, you crave it black and cold
Take it down now, throw it down,
all you men wear that crown

Beautiful things, what would you know,
    you’re rotting from within
The only self you care for is your own
Another one found, the rain it pounds,
    and something looks the same
Pure young skin, there’s madness in your sin
Take it down now, throw it down,
all you men wear that crown

Are you afraid to close your eyes
Afraid there’s nothing left to die
On hills of ice there burns a fire
I’m coming for you from behind

Crazy young man, you think you found,
    an alibi in privilege
You’re hollow inside, it bothers you, I know
You try and fill it in, you’ll never win,
    you’re running just the same
The thing you hate the most, a pure soul
    Look around boy, look around,
    see you’re all alone now

Shut out the noise that fills your mind
And in the end you’ll see your life
You’re burning up before the fire
You never heard me from behind

Sometimes I have dreams, of life,
And all that dies comes back to grow,
    it’s beautiful, ahh
So no, you’ll never really know
    You’ll never really know
You’ll never even know, your final breath

Hope you liked it. This next week you will see a lot of updates here. There is so much going on here. Gosh, I need a Moleskine…

And Remember, ‘You gotta bang your Betty bongos…’

    What’s in my bag?! (2010)

    June 23, 2010

A year ago I posted What’s in my bag? A picture exploring all the things I used to carry on my bag. Let’s see what has changed ever since.

    What's in her bag? (2010)

Let’s see. I can see some changes let’s check each item.

    1. My bag – This is a Chloe bag I bought about 2 years ago, but didn’t like enough to use. This summer I’ve grown to love it. I’ve been using it a lot.
    2. My wallet – Also, a Chloe wallet. Sometimes I think it’s too adult for me, but still, I love it.
    3. Reese’s lip-balm – And it tastes and smells like Reese’s. It’s seriously the best lip-balm I’ve ever had, and believe me, this comes from a girl who buys tons of these things.
    4. Forey’s journall – Over the last year I’ve tried all kinds journals and organizers. Normally I am a bit too messy. I got this from my mom about two years ago, and I started using it as a notebook, but as time has gone by, I’ve been using it more and more to organize everything in my life. I love it and I hate that there are no paper refills for sale in Mexico.
    5. Cheap sunglassess – I got these sunglasses for just $8 on a very pink and girly store. I love how vintage they look.
    6. My Keys – Do you notice the SuicideGirls key chain?
    7. The old purple glasses – About two days after I wrote last year’s What’s in my bag? I lose my glasses’ case, so I had to get a replacement, and I found this pink case.
    8. Inhaler – You never know. Cold weather always makes me feel very sick.
    9. The purple pen – Yes, exactly the same pen I was using last year. I guess that makes me a pretty consistent person.
    10. Dinosaur and Horse – These are toys my boyfriend gave me as a memento of a in-joke. I keep them with me at all times just to remind myself what I love about us being together.
    11. The cellphone – It has been my partner in crime helping me tweet, learn and communicate.  I still love it.

I am starting to notice a lot of my things are purple, which is (I swear) totally unintentional. Anyway, the big absence this year comes from my iPod that has been broken for a couple of months, and I’ve been too lazy to repair :P, maybe next month.

I have a lot of things to do, so I’d better go, I’ll have news for you very soon.

The Friday Song: Sea of love

    June 18, 2010

A few years ago, My best friend and I had this website The Friday Song in which we asked music related questions every friday. This is the evolution.

This week has been crazy! As you know I am an Art student, but a few months ago I thought I would challenge myself a bit, and since I will finish my current major in about 1 year and a half, I decided to apply for two more majors. This week I had the admission tests, as a matter of fact I am not completely over yet, tomorrow is my last day of tests and interviews. Wish me luck!

So, this week’s song is Sea of love by Cat Power. The song is not originally by Cat power, it’s by Tom Waits, and if you allow me, I would also recommend you to listen to it, as Tom Waits’ voice is incredibly sexy, but still, it is Cat power’s version that I am referring to. Why? Well, I first learned about this song while watching a video Apnea had made (Check-out Time it’s quite good actually click to watch it) from back in the time I liked her, it featured the original Tom Waits version, and I fell in love with it. A few years later when I was at the movie theatre watching Juno, I was very happy to hear this cover by Cat power.

I am that kind of person who likes Juno, and by saying that I think what I am really trying to say is that I like the way Diablo Cody expresses herself, she succeeds while trying to portray a generation of blogs, Wikipedia, YouTube and Chatroulette.

I wanted to share a romantic song with you, but my romantic songs can be a little too corny or me to actually admit having them. So this is it, a pretty decent one, one that I am not ashamed of liking.

Lately, my general state of mind is romantic. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I am deeply, deeply in love. I swear The Friday Song will not be just full of silly little love songs, but right now… I can’t help it.

Cat Power – Sea of love

    Come with me
    My love
    To the sea
    The sea of love

    I want to tell you
    how much
    I love you

    Do you remember
    When we met
    That’s the day
I knew you were my pet

    I wanna tell you
    how much
    I love you

    Come with me
    My love
    To the sea
    the sea of love

    I wanna tell you
    How much
    I love you

That’s it, If you’d like a sexier rougher version, click here to hear Tom Waits original.
