Moi non plus

March 1, 2011

tururururu….

I always loved Cibo Matto so much. I loved their implied sexiness and freedom.

It’s late and I can’t sleep. I think I’m going to keep arranging my bedroom. Katamari enters surgery tomorrow morning, and I’m a bit scared. I am silly like that.

Mr. Jones

September 26, 2010

Last night I watched this movie named ‘The Joneses’ featuring the ever gorgeous Demi Moore and David Duchovney (Which reminded me I have to look for the movie Red Shoes Diaries) there, they played this really weird family reprising the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Jones, not the best movie really, but not as mindless as I was expecting it to be; I actually loved how they play with the idea of ‘Keeping up with the Joneses‘ an american saying meaning ‘to keep doing or even just appear to be doing as well as your neighbors, economically speaking’ (Ace marketing, ace) as the poster says, it is quite a sharp criticism to the consumerist society; anyway, suddenly I was the in the movie theatre and I found myself remembering my very own Mr. Jones.

A few years ago my friend Charlotte introduced me to this really nice guy whom I liked to call Mr. Jones, he was big into music and big into movies, big enough to put me into shame and make me feel uneducated *in a very polite manner* from time to time, still he’d seen a lot of movies I’d seen and could talk about a lot of my music, his favorite movie was Audition by Miike Takashi, a Movie I’ve never dare to watch entirely, but still own and usually quoted ‘First day of my life’ a song by Bright Eyes that *literally* has the power to bring me to tears. I don’t even remember his name, I think I actually just called him by that the very first times we met. I eventually found out he was crazy over Mr. Jones – Counting Crows and I ended up calling him that.

I don’t really know what happened to him, he was involved in some pretty heavy stuff and was one of those squirrelly guys who never let anything too personal out, we eventually drifted apart, last time I checked he was unhappily married and all that. No kids luckily. Anyway.

Today I woke up with the urge to listen to this song. I’m going to leave it here just to share, I hope you like it.

I was down at the New Amsterdam
staring at this yellow-haired girl
Mr. Jones strikes up a conversation
with this black-haired flamenco dancer
She dances while his father plays guitar
She’s suddenly beautiful
We all want something beautiful
I wish I was beautiful
So come dance this silence down through the morning
Cut Maria! Show me some of them Spanish dances
Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones
Believe in me
Help me believe in anything
I want to be someone who believes

Mr. Jones and me tell each other fairy tales
Stare at the beautiful women
“She’s looking at you. Ah, no, no, she’s looking at me.”
Smiling in the bright lights
Coming through in stereo
When everybody loves you, you can never be lonely

I will paint my picture
Paint myself in blue and red and black and gray
All of the beautiful colors are very very meaningful
Grey is my favorite color
I felt so symbolic yesterday
If I knew Picasso
I would buy myself a gray guitar and play

Mr. Jones and me look into the future
Stare at the beautiful women
“She’s looking at you.
Uh, I don’t think so. She’s looking at me.”
Standing in the spotlight
I bought myself a gray guitar
When everybody loves me, I will never be lonely

I want to be a lion
Everybody wants to pass as cats
We all want to be big big stars,
but we got different reasons for that
Believe in me because I don’t believe in anything
and I want to be someone to believe

The Friday Song: Fragance

July 30, 2010

A few years ago, my best friend and I had this website The Friday Song, in which we asked music related questions every friday. This is the evolution.

I’m truly sorry for posting this so late, but I’ve been pretty busy. I’ll go back to school next monday and I am already losing my mind. I’ll update you on this during the weekend, right now, let’s talk about TFS.

A few days ago, I was working on a video project and Gackt’s music popped up to my ears. It’d been years since the last time I heard anything by Gackt, even though a friend of mine is really into him. This is one of my favorite songs by him, and I’ve been listening to it nonstop ever since. I hope you like it. *hurry*

yukisaki sae mo mitsukerarenakute
kaze ni kiesouna kioku o
hosoi ito de yukkuri to hikiyoseru

I hope you enjoyed it, I may come and talk about it later, but for now, just bye!

The Friday Song: Deep Orbit

July 23, 2010

A few years ago, my best friend and I had this website The Friday Song, in which we asked music related questions every friday. This is the evolution.

The last few days have been pretty exciting so far. If things go as expected today I will finally have a Photography class I’ve been expecting for the last month. Also The 88 days project has got me thinking so much. Since it’s an ongoing process, I am already paying attention to my health, I am exercising more and becoming more conscious about what I eat. The next step in my list is improving my already awesome relationship, and since I had not seen my boyfriend in a couple of weeks (vacation) I’ll be meeting him again next week. I’m excited.

So, this week’s song is Deep Orbit by the mexican band Monoplug, The picture has literally nothing to do with this week’s song, but I liked it just to illustrate the concept, Also, I happen to find it very aesthetically pleasing. Not much to say this week ‘cept for the fact that I love this song, even if it’s not really new (it came out in 2006) and had not been able to kick it off my head for the last week.

Sadly, this week I don’t have any lyrics for you. The song it’s amazing, but not very mainstream. Sorry ponies, you’re just gonna have to listen to it and enjoy it “as is”.

The Friday Song: Here comes the rain again

July 16, 2010

A few years ago, my best friend and I had this website The Friday Song, in which we asked music related questions every friday. This is the evolution.

This week has not been my week. Nothing really going on, but still, I feel a strange vacuum I can’t really explain.

Actually, if you think about it, it has been one of my most prolific weeks in the summer, I got so much done, and tomorrow I’ll add more to my list. News? Well, apparently, I will start collaborating in a Magazine project, which will mean a hell lot of more work, just to top the hell lot of work I already compromised with school and my friends. But that’s ok

I am still wondering… but that’s ok too. Not a happy week indeed.

Anyway, TFS. I got obsessed over this song about two or three days ago. I had iTunes on shuffle, it came out and I hadn’t been able to get that tune out of my head. Hope you enjoy it, It’s The Cruxshadows’ cover of Eurythmics hit ‘Here comes the rain again’, I’m loving this one much more than I do the original.

Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you

So baby talk to me
Like lovers do
Walk with me
Like lovers do
Talk to me
Like lovers do

Here comes the rain again
Raining in my head like a tragedy
Tearing me apart like a new emotion

I want to breathe in the open wind
I want to kiss like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you

So baby talk to me
Like lovers do
Walk with me
Like lovers do
Talk to me
Like lovers do

So baby talk to me
Like lovers do

Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
(Here is comes again, here it comes again)
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you

Hope you liked it. I am tired as hell and feeling a bit sick, I just want to go to bed, but I’m a bit scared, cause last night as I was in bed, I heard weird whispers in my ear (true story) but I think it was just me falling asleep. Good night.
